Report on the walk of 12th Feb 2009
Brian Wilkins took us on a circuit from Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District up to the magnificent rock formations on Derwent Edge and back.
There had been a good fall of snow which was still quite deep on the steepest part of the ascent but there was plenty of time and the difficulties simply added to the walk.
It was a cold day and generally overcast. The further fall of snow forecast didn't arrive but black clouds silhouetted the snowy Kinder Plateau for much of the afternoon.
It is a very pleasant walk but not overly hard (even allowing for the snow) so everyone enjoyed it. There were low level alternatives should the day have proved not to be as good as it was.
