Walk on Tuesday 10th March 2009
John Carr has a walk planned for us around the Parbold Hill area which
is to the NW of Wigan. Last month was quite strenuous in Derbyshire.
This one is more modest and really is within the scope of everyone. As
always there will be options on the day to make it longer or shorter.
We meet on the approach road to Appley Bridge Rail Station. If there is
no parking space there we can move to other local parking. Ready to go
at 10.10. (when the time a train gets in from Manchester)
Directions
M6 to junction 27 & take the A5209 towards Parbold.
Past Wrightington hospital. About 1m from the M6 turn left at X roads
onto B5375. (pub on corner)
Follow it down hill & when it bends sharp left just keep straight ahead
down hill.
The station approach is on the left just before the railway bridge
If you get to the bridge over the canal you have just passed it!
Train
Take the Southport train from Manchester Piccadilly at 9.22 to Appley
Bridge arr 10.10.

man-made paths or intervention. Park Lane NetWalking Club is a FREE
voluntary association of individuals who love the outdoors and business
networking. As such you are responsible for your own safety on the hills.
